What to expect

If you’ve never attended a liturgical Anglican church before — or if you’re simply looking for a church home — we’re glad you’re here.

Commonly asked Q&A:

Where are you located?

Our church is in the strip mall on the corner of Pleasant View Drive and Riverbend Avenue. Our front door is behind the sandwich and pizza shop in the center of the parking lot. There is another church, Oasis, in the same building to the far right.

What do I do when I get there?

There will be greeters at the front door to welcome you! They will give you a music bulletin and either a liturgy booklet or a red prayer book. If you are unsure where to sit, please ask one of them and they will be happy to help you find a seat.

What is it like?

Our worship is reverent, participatory, and Christ-centered. You will sit, stand, kneel (as you are able), pray aloud with the congregation, and receive communion. Everything is printed in a bulletin and the Book of Common Prayer to guide you through the service. One of our greeters will supply you with everything you'll need to participate.

The service is broken into two sections: The Word and The Sacrament. You will hear scripture readings from the Old Testament, New Testament and a Gospel and we will chant a Psalm together. This is followed by a homily (sermon), reciting the Nicean Creed and corporate prayer. The second part of the service is devoted entirely to the Holy Eucharist (communion.) Typically, the service ends just after Noon.

If you are new to liturgical worship, simply follow along — there is no pressure to know what to do.

What do I wear?

We're a typical Northwest church; some choose to wear their Sunday best, others will be wearing jeans and their favorite hoodie. Come as you feel most appropriate for church!

Are kids welcome?

Yes! Children are welcome in worship! In fact, we encourage families to worship together and love the sounds our smallest children make during the service. Seasonally, we will have a children's moment just before the homily and Children's Church on the first Sunday of the month. Children start in the main service with their parents, are released to children's church by the Rector and they'll return before communion. All our teachers have completed mandated background checks and training before working with the children.

How do I receive Communion?

We celebrate Holy Eucharist every Sunday. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive.

If you prefer not to receive communion by reason of conscience or choice, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing or remain seated in prayer.
